ImprovingYourPlay.com is currently in the process of trying to find a sponsor for both a private (or public) game server and Ventrilo/TS server to make it’s home as the premier demo recording studio for it’s video demonstrations. I am working with my clan to see about reserving our war server weekly for this kind of activity until a more permanent home can be found, however, this will be subject to scheduling conflicts as they arrange matches/scrims/practices on the fly.
IYP is also looking into creating a forum for the site, with a section dedicated to developing video demonstrations. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
With the future onset of having video demonstrations created and on a regular basis, the flexibility of needing stand-in actors will be essential to it’s success. Therefore, IYP.com needs you!

Writer’s block is broken! At least for now. As I started work on the video demonstrations again, I had a breakthrough on what was missing from the written portion of the site, something that was absolutely necessary to have pre-defined before trying to explain the more difficult techniques by video demonstration alone. Therefore, two new articles are up in the CoD4 articles section with another on its way. These articles are “The Fundamentals of a Skirmish” and “Leadership in Public Play,” each start out somewhat basic but have profound impact if you fully understand them and apply them to your play. Enjoy!

Writer’s block… time to start those video demonstrations? Maybe. Looking at the last entry and it being of October of last year, I think it’s time for an update from me. To be honest, I can’t believe 6 months has already past and I haven’t had anything to say or show you guys on here. I am reminded of this site on a near weekly basis, I just never have anything new to add. Is the written portion of this site as complete as it is going to be? Is it time to get back to video editing? Just to get the ball rolling, I’m going to commit to getting a video up by the end of the week/month. It will likely be a montage for the “About” page, as those are easier to create and don’t require special editing, although, ones that are edited well are much more enjoyable to watch… never-the-less(?) it will get me re-focused on this site.
Not much of a news update, more of a rededication to bringing content to this site and to the gaming community. As always, stay tuned ;P

I’m happy to announce a number of enhancements to the site as well as a new article! If this is your first visit well you won’t know the difference, but for those that have dropped by before you’ll notice that the CoD4 guide is completely reorganized on the site broken into different pages corresponding to the different sections the guide was initially broken up into. I feel this is much more user friendly as you can jump to whichever section you left off on without having to find it on the long page it once was.
As for the new article it’s also in the CoD4 section labeled “Bunny Hopping - Dolphin Diving - Bullet Time It!” which discusses the controversy of the bunny hop / dolphin dive tactic and explains why they are so effective and a few points to keep in mind if you are new to implementing them into your skill set.
As I finished this article I found that it was a good segway to another topic that has been left unmentioned on this site, so look forward to a new article titled “Time (as) Cover” discussing how to use time for safety from enemy fire.

Today I went through and with my lesser literary skills edited the entire guide and found a few peculiar typos that made my points misleading or if nothing else senseless.
I have now arrived at my new home, and can say I am fully settled in. I enjoy updating this site and hope to be able to continue to provide quality content to make our gaming community all the better.

I’m back and I foresee having some discretionary hours to devote to this website in the coming week/s. My goal is to do some extensive editing to both the layout of the website as well as to the individual posts that make up the CoD4 guide as that section isn’t up to my standards yet. As far as an introduction video or video demonstrations for CoD4, there’s a slim chance I’ll start working on some but overall set your expectations to late September to early October as I’ll be pretty well settled in to my new home by then.
The three items I want to work on are:
- The wordpress template links, some are broken or have other problems with them.
- Create jump-to links for the CoD4 section to ease your navigation until I can develop something even more user-friendly.
- Do some editing of the individual posts of the CoD4 section to cut out the excess and leave the quality.
So much to do.. so little time.

As the Call of Duty 4 is the main focus right now, I’m personally not satisfied with the layout, even with the Table of Contents and all that, i think it would be better in a slightly different fashion, as it was created via forum posts in the first place, now that it’s on this website, the layout doesn’t compliment the site structure. SO, expect changes there at some point… right now it’s not high on my priority list but I’ll get there. Also (this may happen real soon) I’d like to create more “Jump To” links so that you can navigate to the individual posts from the Table Of Contents and vice versa, more so than what you are capable of now.

I’ve just started moving all the content (CoD4 Guide) over to this new WordPress layout, I hope to be all settled in by the end of next week, with my first Video Guide rolled out hopefully by the end of July. May be delayed due to details surrounding my move.
